From the Guardian:

According to reports, 41-year-old Fairey and his colleague Romeo Trinidad were punched and kicked by at least two men outside the Kodboderne 18 nightclub in the early hours of last Saturday morning. Fairey claims the men called him “Obama illuminati” and ordered him to “go back to America”.

…

Within a day of completion, the mural was vandalised by protesters, with graffiti sending messages of “no peace” and “go home, Yankee hipster”. Fairey subsequently collaborated with former members of the 69 youth house to redecorate the lower half of the installation. His new version contains images of riot police and explosions, together with a new, more combative slogan: “Nothing forgotten, nothing forgiven”.

Stumbling around on the internets looking for contributors, I ran into a 2009 video of Zach De La Rocha and artist Ernesto Yerena talking about Arizona’s SB1070 law. Ernesto Yerena’s “We Are Human” poster is a prized possession of mine — a gift I received from coworkers last year. It still doesn’t have a proper frame, and, I must confess, I didn’t even know he was the artist when I received the print.

Zach, always frothing at the mouth and spitting fire out of his nostrils, is more tranquil than I’ve ever seen him. Granted, I don’t really know him as a person, only as a rocker/activist with a message, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a new side of a guy I’ve been a fan of for years.

As for Ernesto, I’m hoping to cover my walls with even more of his prints, sooner rather than later.
